The Mother of Mercy Charitable Foundation or MMCF was founded in 2016 through the collaboration of a retired nurse, Angela Testani and a Nigerian priest, Fr. Edward Inyanwachi to help alleviate the health care, educational and humanitarian needs of the rural poor in Nigeria. Since its creation, MMCF has sent 15,000 pounds of medical supplies and equipment to a Nigerian hospital, helped rebuild a school dormitory, provides scholarships to children, and supplied safe drinking water to a village in Ebonyi State in southeastern Nigeria. MMCF has completed the first phase of installation of solar panels at Mater Misericordiae hospital in order to reduce its operating costs so it can channel the savings into addressing the medical needs of the local population. During the current coronavirus pandemic MMCF has begun distributing staples to the neediest families around Abakaliki affected by COVID 19. MMCF plans to: begin an effort to ship used school textbooks from California for distribution in the schools operated by the Diocese of Abakaliki in Ebonyi State; to expand its program to provide safe drinking water throughout Ebonyi State and provide scholarships to students. We welcome your contribution to support our efforts in a part of the world where your contribution will go far towards transforming lives of the rural poor.
